Employer Wellbeing Tips – Part 1

With three fifths of employees experiencing mental health issues related to work, business leaders have acknowledged that the wellbeing of their staff is at least partly their responsibility. Here are some tips to help you improve the wellbeing of your employees

Offer benefits to support wellbeing

Employers should offer a variety of benefits that will help foster wellbeing and ensure they're easily accessible. Through a dedicated engagement portal, like Hive360's, employees can access a myriad of benefits and services, from Gym and retail discounts to mental health support and access to GP's all from a mobile device in the palm of their hand.

Educate staff on financial matters

Focusing on education as a way to assist your employees' financial wellbeing is a powerful tool. Research shows that problems in the home often make their way into the office. Try to help your employees get a better understanding of debt, and budgeting, along with other money related topics as part of a broader employee offering.

Provide support for mental health

Employee assistance programs are a great tool to assist with employee mental health, and fit well into a broader 'employee wellbeing strategy.' Offering these types of assistance programs via an engagement portal is a perfect solution. There is (unfortunately) still much stigma surrounding mental health, and while more people are opening up, some still want to keep their troubles private. Offering support via a portal allows your employees to keep their problems private, but still have access to the help they need, when they need it.
